Are you REALLY getting advice from a specialist?

One question...

When telecoms are just one of many products a company sells, are you really getting specialist advice?

I've worked in telecoms since 1988.

I've been a BT engineer, worked in corporate sales for major UK networks, and for nearly 19 years I've run an independent telecoms business.

Telecoms are all I do.

That means my advice isn't influenced by selling IT, photocopiers, energy, security or any other product.

It's simply about what's right for the customer.

In fact, today I did exactly that.

One client asked me about broadband. Rather than sell them one of my own services, I pointed them towards another provider because I knew they could get a better deal buying direct currently due to a number of ‘special offers’.

Another customer wanted new iPhones. Instead of supplying the handsets, I suggested they buy them directly from Apple on 0% finance, then take the business SIMs from us.

Could I have made more money by selling them everything? Absolutely.

Did I? No.

Because I'd rather earn a customer for life than maximise one invoice.

After nearly 40 years in telecoms, I still believe the best advice is honest advice—even when it means telling a customer not to buy from you.

That's what being an independent specialist means to me.
